The phenomenal Hickstead carries Eric Lamaze to victory in the $75,000 Keg Steakhouse & Bar Grand Prix Fort Langley, BC – The tropical atmosphere and flowered shirts of the Tommy Bahama Grand Prix and the uninhibited excitement of the Blaylock Surgical Centre Six-Bar Challenge were enervating warm-ups to the $75,000 Keg Steakhouse & Bar Grand Prix that concluded Thunderbird Show Park’s Summer Festival tournament. And it was truly a phenomenal Grand Prix that saw Eric Lamaze once again finish first (with Hickstead)and second (with Narcotique de Muze II).With the advantage of already completing one tour of the jump-off course with Hickstead, Eric Lamaze entered the ring, last to go, with Narcotique de Muze – whom he claims is not the fastest horse on the planet. With few clear rounds, however, he was able to maintain a relatively steady pace, and only needed to edge out Crooks to claim second place. The timing was neck-and-neck as the pair cleared the penultimate obstacle, then raced to the last and stopped the clock at 44.96. It was the second time in three days that Lamaze had finished first and second in a Thunderbird Grand Prix.
