At the Belgian Championships for young horses in Gesves, Cavalier Russe’s offspring proved they are cut from the right cloth. Among the 4-year-olds, he produced no fewer than two champions from his first crop: Café Au Lait VDM Z (mother sire: Elvis Ter Putte, Katrijn Van Hoecke) and Woodstock DB (mother sire: Elvis Ter Putte, Valentijn De Bock). Mosito van het Hellehof (Womanizer JW van de Moerhoeve, Frederik Wuytack) and Elvis Ter Putte (Wilma van de Carenahoeve, Joyce Fries) also saw one of their offspring crowned as a 4-year-old champion.

In the competition for 5-year-olds, Very Special de Wiqui (s. Quickly vd Kruishoeve) ridden by Jolien Van den Broeck, Victoria van Klapscheut (s. Fantomas de Muze) ridden by Margaux Van Rossem, Vienna du Sotra (s. Kasanova de la Pomme) ridden by Jelle Van Der Schraelen and Virginia van Klapscheut (s. Kasanova de la Pomme) ridden by Steven Van Rossem all made it through to the final. 6-year-old Ugo van de Ceulshaegen (s. Vigo d’Arsouilles) matched that performance under Jordy Oostvogels. Incidentally, the silver in the 6-year-olds’ category went to U For Me JW van ’t Meulenhof (Mauro Stas), sired by our former stallion Cuba Libre de Muze Z.

Deauville

Moving on to the international competitions, where Kevin Staut and Vida Loca Z (s. Vigo d’Arsouilles) made their mark with a third-place finish in the Deauville GP4*. Bart Jay Junior Vandecasteele and Lotti Blue Z (s. Le Blue Diamond van ’t Ruytershof) secured third place in a 1.50m class. Jeanne Sadran rode Funky Boy des Rêves (s. Vigo d’Arsouilles) to second place at 1.45m level, whilst Arthur Le Vot won a 1.40m class with Soho (s. I’m Special de Muze). In that final class, Charlotte McAuley on Istoire des As (s. Vigo d’Arsouilles) and Bart Jay Junior Vandecasteele on Vamos de la Pomme d’Or (s. Vigo d’Arsouilles) also finished among the frontrunners. Simon Delestre also scored at 1.40m level riding Special Edition de Muze (s. Scendro).

Ottawa

Nicole Walker took fourth place over 1.40m at the CSI4* in Ottawa with Panter JVH (s. Le Blue Diamond van ’t Ruytershof). In the GP2*, Sean Jobin placed his Courtois (s. Nabab de Rêve) in fourth position.

Samorin

Marie Eder Ferrero and Quesera de Muze (s. Fantomas de Muze) secured fifth place in the GP3* at Samorin. Bronislav Chudyba added a fourth-place finish in the GP1* riding Easy Elvis B (s. Elvis Ter Putte). Saad Alajmi and Hi There (s. Nabab de Rêve) finished eighth in that same Grand Prix. Enno Klaphake and NC Verso Red Wine (s. Vigo d’Arsouilles) also secured a close placing. Sara Vingralkova, in turn, won the GPU25 riding Rock’n Roll MXL (s. Denzel van ’t Meulenhof).

Kronenberg

In the GP2* at Kronenberg, Lou Puch finished eighth on Malito (s. Malito de Rêve). Oscar Van Den Berghe secured a place in the prize-winners’ circle at 1.45m with Top Secret de Muze Z (s. Tornedo FCS), as did Mathijs van Asten on Nerio de la Haute Bruyères (s. Elvis Ter Putte).

Bonheiden

Jeroen De Winter took ninth place in the Bonheiden GP2* riding Roberlina vh Netehof (s. Bamako de Muze). Shoorendran Nageswaran and Verena MB Z (s. Vigo d’Arsouilles) came second over 1.40m.

Baborowko

Finally, in Baborowko, Poland, Max Haunhorst and I’m Spezial 2 (s. I’m Special de Muze) finished ninth in the GP2*.
