Great results at the Belgian Championships

Last week in Gesves, the young horses competed for the title of Belgian Champion. Our stallions’ offspring were very successful. Arthur Vermeersch and Oban Du Val Lhora (s. Scendro) became champion of the 4-year-olds after four clear rounds. Also in the final for 4-year-olds, there were fine performances by Emma Rooms with Ulysse Ter Wilgen (s. Kasanova de la Pomme), Astrid Rooms with Undercover van ‘t Paradijs (s. Scendro) and Niki Geenens with Ugo van d'Elzendreef (s. Scendro). That means no fewer than three Scendro offspring qualified for the final.

In the championship for 5-year-olds, we saw Brent De Smit in the final riding Toulouse van de Polderblues (s. Le Blue Diamond van ‘t Ruytershof), as did Thomas De Wit on El Chapo DW Z (s. El Torreo de Muze). Thanks to Byblosh-K van ‘t Kattenheye Z (Manuel Thiry) and Toxic Van Berg Op Zoom (Jelle Sappin), Bamako de Muze also had two representatives in the final.

We close the Belgian Championship section with a bang. After her championship title last year as a 5-year-old, Libelle Asborne Z (s. Lector vd Bisschop) took a medal again this year under Seppe Wouters as a 6-year-old. After an exciting battle, they finished third. Jordy Oostvogels and Bounce vd Rollebeek Z (s. Bamako de Muze) also made it into the jump-off. They finished fifth in the end. We also mention El Diablo de Rie Z (s. Eames de Hus, Tim Van Den Broeck), Sir Granata NS (s. Vigo d'Arsouilles, Stef Bossaerts), Be Loved Bull's Eye Z (s. Bamako de Muze, Vittoria Vignale), Big Boss vd Broekkant Z (s. Bamako de Muze, Robinson Maupiler) and Best Call Z (s. Bamako de Muze, Hanne Mertens). All these duo’s equally qualified for the final of the 6-year-olds’ championship.

Dublin

On the international stage, Kasanova de la Pomme deservedly received a lot of attention. At the prestigious show in Dublin, he finished sixth in the Rolex GP after also posting a double clear in the Nations Cup with Koen in the saddle. The offspring of Bamako stood out in the Irish capital anyway. The only 9-year-old Portobella van de Fruitkorf finished tenth in the Rolex GP under Emilie Conter and scored 4/0 in the Nations Cup.

London

The GCT/GCL leg in London yielded yet another win for Simon Delestre and Olga van de Kruishoeve (s. El Torreo de Muze). In a 1.40m class, Gemma Stevens finished fifth riding Envoy Merelsnest Z (s. Elvis Ter Putte).

Vancouver

Battlecry (ex-Olympus van de Molenberg, s. Vigo d'Arsouilles) and Tiffany Foster finished second in the Vancouver GP3*. Earlier, they also finished third in the 1.50m qualifier.

St Gatien - Deauville

In the Deauville GP2*, Eden Leprevost Blinlebreton finished third in the saddle of Grande Dame DK (s. By Cera d'Ick). In the various 1.40m classes we noted places of honour for Geoffroy De Coligny with Grincheux de la Roque (s. Vigo d'Arsouilles) and Mathieu Billot with Villas Z (s. Vigo d'Arsouilles).
