With a fifth place in a 1.45m ranking class in Oliva, Lector vd Bisschop started the 2023 calendar year well under Koen Vereecke. It bodes well for the rest of the season. His progeny are also quietly rising to the top despite their limited number from his first crops. For example, Looks Good de Liebri Z impressed with a fifth place in a 1.40m class under Kevin Jochems.
Quickly v/d Kruishoeve also delivered again with several clear rounds in the classes for 7-year-olds. With Roxana van HD (s. Taran de la Pomme) there was a clear round in the class for 6-year-olds. Both were of course to be admired under the saddle of Koen Vereecke. Karline in turn took care of Istina Esqui (s. I'm Special de Muze), Andy Pur VDM Z (s. Aktion Pur Z) and Oilily de Muze (s. Vigo d'Arsouilles), also resulting in many clear rounds.
For the second week in a row, Nestor de Mariposa (s. Elvis Ter Putte) jumped into the spotlight under the Spanish sun. With Jérôme Guery he won a 1.40m class. Also with Juristo van het Hagenhof (s. Elvis Ter Putte) Guery was placed, but in a 1.45m class. Nicolas Deseuzes and Five Clairbois (s. Vigo d'Arsouilles) won a 1.40m class as well.
The GP1* was won by Koen Vereecke and Pia van de Nieuwburghoeve (s. Vigo d'Arsouilles). Jérôme Guery and Jyrado vh Bovenhoekshof (s. Cera d'Ick) rushed to place seven. In a 1.40m class, Andrea Bormioli and Fred Astaire de Bacon (s. Vigo d'Arsouilles) grabbed fifth place.
Wellington
The third week of the WEF saw a prestigious win for Lacey Gilbertson and Karlin van 't Vennehof (s. Fantomas de Muze) in the WEF Challenge Cup (1.55m). In the GP, they finished fifth. Namaste van het Eyckeveld (s. Elvis Ter Putte) also made himself noticed with a second place in the GP under Shane Sweetnam.
In the two-star competition, Zoe Conter grabbed sixth place in the GP on Enrico de la Pomme (s. Vigo d'Arsouilles). Vigo also produced the number eight named Vigakata (ridden by Wilton Porter).
Amsterdam
Hi There (s. Nabab de Rêve) grabbed fourth place in a 1.40m class under Sanne Thijssen at Jumping Amsterdam. In the U25 competition, Ipsthar (s. Denzel van 't Meulenhof) jumped into the limelight under Bas Moerings. They came third in the GP and fifth in a 1.40m class. In that GP, Coen Kerbert took fifth place riding Inekaat (s. I'm Special de Muze). Emma Bodier and Medoc de Muze (s. Bamako de Muze) were in seventh place.
Puebla
Manuel Gonzalez Dufrane and Martialis (s. Nabab de Rêve) rushed to second place in a 1.50m class in Mexico's Puebla. This combination also finished third in a 1.45m class. In the latter competition, Lirenco van 't Kieveld (s. Vigo d'Arsouilles) was second under Valeria De Leon Gonzalez.
Vejer de la Frontera
Finally, in Vejer de la Frontera, Leticia Riva Gil was good for fourth place on Victoria d'Argent (s. Nabab de Rêve) in a 1.40m class.
